Redlands Underground
My friends weren't kidding when they said it's the lowest place in Redlands. This new spot is located downstairs in the Cope Building, or at least I think it's the Cope building in Redlands. The bar reminded me of that old TV show "Cheers." I was waiting for Cliff to stop by for his usual. I was surprised that this place was a restaurant. I ordered salmon and what I received was unexpected. The salmon came on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes with white asparagus arranged in an artsy way around the plate. I learned that the chef is from a culinary school, so that explained the presentation. The meal was excellent and the price was reasonable. I was a tad offset by the price of a glass of wine, but I guess that's because I was out. It's hard to swallow when you can buy an entire bottle of that same wine for the price they charge for a glass. However, I'm able to get over that because the place was warm and comfortable and the food outstanding!
