Citrone...a little taste of Manhattan here in Redlands

I have lived in Redlands for quite sometime, but never made it into Citrone. I typically go out of town when seeking a high end restaurant experience. However, I met a client at Citrone yesterday and was pleasantly surprised that we have a little bit of Manhattan here in Redlands. The ambiance was inviting and reminded me of many high end restaurants back east: small dining room, lots of uncovered windows creating the overall feeling of light and airy, brick, open kitchen, upscale bar area in the back, simple elegant tables, and an outstanding wine list. I ordered Seabass and my client a spinach salad which we enjoyed. The young attractive, all male, staff knew exactly what they were talking about when they described the excellent menu as well as specials and ensured that the atmosphere was relaxing and friendly. Our waiter did an excellent job and encouraged us to try several things that were new to us.The presentation was nice and the service prompt. My client having owned a high end restaurant for 20 years noted one no no: I finished my meal before my client and the waiter took my plate away leaving my client to finish. The ticket was bit pricey, but worth it. I am happy to know we have a fine establishment like Citrone and The Farm in Redlands.
